To be a leftist, an atheist or a secularist, all you need to do is take the very opposite position of Christianity. For example: there is no God; corporate and ideologically-sourced and bought and changing and contradictory science is the absolute truth; the universe’s age is vastly and nonsensically changing: millions or billions of years old; people were not created by God, and their non-human ancestors non-scientifically and impossibly lept into existence and then came alive, and then unprovably crossed observable speciation barriers and evolved from monkeys and amoebas; women are the heads and leaders of husbands; homosexual perversion is to be celebrated; killing full-term humans in the womb or just outside the womb is okay; lying, cheating, stealing, and murdering are okay as long as they advance your political agenda. You must be willing to accuse others of meanness and violence when they’re not doing these things, and while you hypocritically engage in them yourself.  You must say you believe in freedom and respect for others, but only when other people completely agree and submit to your agenda, otherwise, you immediately must turn to ridicule, violence, or political oppression. You must believe that Jesus was a mere man, even that He was a sinner. Also, contradictorily, that there is no sin. And, therefore you must believe that there is no Moral Law. And, that there therefore is no need for forgiveness for yourself or for others. Impossibly, in a world of no right and no wrong, you must villify Christians and conservatives and mock them for being “wrong,” when you believe there is no such thing as wrong. Also, you must believe that there is no Heaven and no Hell–these are primitive ideas or childish fantasies or lies set up to control people by fear. Also, you must be willing to promote ideas that do not work in reality, do not deal with the facts of reality, and have been shown all throughout history not to work. Finally, you must believe that there is no ultimate meaning to life, so you can do whatever you want, calling that “freedom,” trying to ignore your conscience that you cannot completely get rid of, while secretly fearing death, and secretly fearing the just judgement of the God you keep telling yourself does not exist.

It takes a lot of unsubstantiated faith to oppose God.
